The towers in Al Dafna with its high concentration with high end international restaurants and bars are more suited to young professionals and singles.The traffic is normally quiet light.

There are few local shops in the area with just a couple of well stocked convenient stores at the south and west gates of West Bay lagoon. Things changed at the end of West Bay as lagoona mall at the bottom of Zigzag towers opened , also the vast city center Doha , in the middle of Al Dafna has a big Carrefour and countless other shops , as well as cinema , Kid’s play areas , an ice rink and bowling alley.

Entertainment & Leisure

The pearl is close by for restaurants and lagoon mall once all shops opened will house more. The hotels are good eating out options – Paloma the new Belgian bar and a new Greek restaurants at the intercontinental are lively.and the Ritz Carlton has the smart but not stuffy Italian restaurant Porcini and the admirals club , which has a first class setting on the marina , but is a little pricey. A new opening is terribly trendy w hotel , which has a spice market restaurant , influenced by Asian street food , as wll as the crystal lounge , a swanky bar outfitted almost entirety in black. City center Doha also has loads of cafes and restaurants including new arrivals such as the Noodle house , in addition to popular chains like Nando’s , Beilla and Chilli’s.

Katara , the newly opened in the cultural village is in West bay too and will bring theaters , art galleries , a heritage center and Doha’s first public beach to the area. Surprisingly , for a city located between the desert and the sea , because of the heavy development in Doha there are no longer any free publish beaches , they have all disappeared . Katara will cost you QR 100 per person and don’t try to wear a bikini , female will refused entry if they expose too much of themselves.

Hotels in the area have bathing facilities , Four season , Intercontinental and Sheraton all have beaches accessible to health club members and paying day visitors. The Ritz Carlton doesn’t have a beach.but does have pontoon with deck chairs on it. The Gold is just beyond West bay offering good food . There are sun shades outside and a view provides a welcome dose of green. The Diplomatic club which has a large local membership , has a great beach and is good for water sport.

Education

There are a few schools around with more planned. Newton international school , The french school and Qatar international school are based there.More nurseries are springing up too , with fun first nursery and starfish lane’s second branch already open.Qatar university and college of north Atlantic are close by. Also for kids in West Bay is My Gym , a franchise with play classes to help children develop. it is located opposite international Exhibition centers on Lusail street.
